Andrew White III is a 6’7”, 210lb small forward currently playing for the Boston Celtics’ G League affiliate team - the Maine Red Claws.
In high school, White averaged 22.9 points and 10 rebounds per game as a senior at Miller High School in Charlottesville. His most notable game was during his senior season when he recorded 46 points, 19 rebounds and seven assists. He was named the Virginia State Player of the Year after his senior campaign, and was invited to participate in the Capital Classic All-Star Game.
From there, White III went on to start his college career at Kansas, where he spent two years. He then transferred to Nebraska where he spent the remainder of his college years. As a red-shirt in his junior year, he put up some impressive numbers. He averaged 16.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game with a 41.2% average from behind the arc.
White III went undrafted in the 2017 NBA draft, but signed a partially-guaranteed deal that summer with the Boston Celtics. He was released by the team, and spent a short period on their G League affiliate - the Marine Claws’ roster. By January 2018, he was picked up by the Atlanta Hawks in a two-way deal.
As a two-way signed player between the Hawks and their G League team, the Erie Bayhawks White made a splash in his 2018 NBA debut. In just 17 minutes, he accumulated 15 points coming off the bench for the Hawks. Last season, he went on to play 15 NBA games and averaged nearly 14 minutes per game.
In August this year, he briefly signed with a BSL professional team in Turkey, but announced shortly after in late October that he would be playing once again with the Maine Red Claws.
